Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2026.

Sellboard is a comparison tool for instant-sell skin markets. The whole point of it is to keep your data where it belongs — in your own browser — so this policy is short. It explains what Sellboard reads, what it stores, and what it never touches.

1. The short version

  • Sellboard compares the offers you already see on skin markets. It does not buy, hold, or sell items, and it never signs in to a market for you.
  • There are no Sellboard accounts. We do not collect your name, email, password, or payment details.
  • The Steam profile you load and every price you import stay in your own browser. They are never uploaded to us or stored on our servers.
  • The browser extension only reads offers from the market pages you open, in your browser, after you install it and grant it permission.
  • A small, self-hosted, cookie-less analytics tool may count visits. It ships off and only runs if the site operator enables it — it never identifies you.

2. What Sellboard does

Sellboard reads your public CS2 inventory from Steam and lines up the offer each market shows you for each item, so you can see which payout is best. That needs two things: your public Steam inventory, and the offer a market shows you while you are signed in. Both happen either through a small server-side proxy or in your own browser — never as a profile stored about you.

3. What we handle, and where it lives

Steam inventory. When you paste a Steam profile, vanity URL, or trade link and load it, your browser asks our server to fetch your public inventory from Steam. Steam’s site sends no CORS headers, so the request has to be proxied to work in a browser. The server passes the result straight back and does not save it. The profile link and the returned item list are stored in your browser, not by us.

Market offers. The Sellboard browser extension runs inside the market pages you open. While you are signed in, it reads the offer the site serves and posts that text to the Sellboard tab, which turns it into per-item prices. Nothing is sent to our servers, and the imported prices live in your browser.

Settings. Market fee percentages and the grid layout you adjust are stored in your browser so they are still there the next time you visit.

4. Data stored in your browser

Sellboard keeps its state in your browser’s local storage, on your device. These are the keys it uses:

  • sellboard-v1 — the Steam profile you loaded (the query and Steam ID), its item list, the market prices you imported, and any item-name overrides you made.
  • sellboard-fees — your per-market fee overrides.
  • sellboard-display — your preferred number of grid columns and whether stacked items show one item's value or the whole stack's.

You can delete any of it at any time: press “Reset inventory prices” or “Reset fee defaults” in Settings, or clear site data for this site in your browser. Once cleared, nothing Sellboard kept about you remains.

5. What we never collect

No account, sign-in, email, name, address, or phone number. No payment-card details, because Sellboard never handles money. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not sell or rent data, because we do not hold any to sell. We never see your Steam password or your market logins — you type those only into Steam and the markets themselves.

6. Third parties

  • Valve / Steam. Inventory and profile lookups go to steamcommunity.com. Valve’s own privacy policy governs that service.
  • The market sites. LIS-SKINS, Avan, Moon, and any other market you open are separate services you deal with directly under your own account. Their terms and privacy policies apply, not ours.
  • Hosting. Our server, and the network in front of it, processes ordinary request data such as your IP address and browser user-agent to deliver the page and keep the site online and secure.
  • Analytics. Only if the operator enables it — a self-hosted instance described in section 8.

7. Server logs

Like any website, our host may keep standard access logs — IP address, requested URL, timestamp, and user-agent — for a limited time to operate, debug, and protect the service. We do not use them to build profiles, and there is nothing to link them to: your Steam inventory and imported prices never reach our servers in the first place.

8. Analytics

Sellboard can be pointed at a self-hosted Umami instance to count page views and a few anonymous events (such as an inventory being loaded). Umami is cookie-less by default, does not collect personal data, and does not follow you to other websites — the numbers stay on the operator’s own server. It ships disabled: the tracker is only loaded when the operator sets two build-time variables, so in a default build nothing is measured at all.

9. Children

Sellboard is not directed at children and is intended for people old enough to use Steam and the listed markets under their own accounts. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you have a concern about a child’s use of the tool, contact us and we will help.

10. Your choices

  • Clear Sellboard data: remove the local-storage keys above (section 4), or clear site data in your browser.
  • Stop market reads: uninstall or disable the browser extension, and revoke its site permissions.
  • Opt out of analytics: block or allow-list the analytics domain in your browser. The site works fine without it.
  • Ask a question: use the contact details below.

11. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because your Steam profile and imported prices stay in your browser, there is no server-side store of them for anyone to breach. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your own device and browser up to date — and remember that your Steam and market credentials are used only by Steam and those markets.

12. Changes to this policy

If Sellboard’s data handling changes, we will update this page and move the “last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make it prominent on the site before it takes effect.

13. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data? Reach us through the Support link. Because Sellboard holds no account for you, there is usually nothing on our side to look up — but we are happy to answer questions and correct anything that is wrong.

Sellboard is not affiliated with Valve Corporation or any of the listed markets. Steam and all market names are the property of their respective owners.
